As mentioned above a top quality wetsuit will cost in the region of $100 - $500, but if you are only going to do a few open water dives a year, you may find you do not want to spend this sort of money and it may be wise to choose a less expensive model. Take care you are not being ‘ripped off’ by a shady retailer or an unauthorized grey market re-seller who doesn't offer a manufacturer warranty.

With that being said there are many styles of suits that come in the "cost conscious" end that are fine suits. The Akona line, Tilos and ScubaMax come to mind as perfect for that category. Just remember you won't have all the bells and whistles that are offered by other more costly wet suits.
